94 topaz ignition and steering wheel locked. Never happened before ?

I was at a job interview, and came out to start my car only to find that my ignition is locked! I can pull the key out and put it in, but it's a tiny bit sticky pulling it out. The steering wheel is also locked. The steering wheel also looks like it could be upside down but the wheels are straight and I'm not on a hill. Automatic, and the gear is stuck in park. This has never happened before ever and I have tried jiggling the steering wheel both gently and rough to free up the lock to no success. The steering wheel has very little room to give as it is locked because of the anti theft feature. The key isn't worn as far as I can tell. I honestly believe it is just locked or jammed up because the steering wheel was in such an awkward position when I shut the car off. I always lock the steering wheel when the car isn't being used but this is the first time the ignition has acted up
