Is it illegal to carry a switchblade/pocket knife around.?

i am 13 years old and i live in indiana. i was going to purchase a switchblade or a pocket knife but it's not to hurt anyone i just think that it would be cool to have one. i also read online that it has to be a certain length for it to be legal so what would the maximum length be for it to be legal.
