Is ab work necessary for losing a belly?
abs are the only place that constant work will make no effect of you have belly fat. you will probably have strong firm abs maybe even a 6 pack under your fat but losing the body fat is the main concern first. after your abs are showing work to them will just make them stronger. you want to work on the after burn of activity rather than the calories burned during the gym exercises. the after burn is the calories you burn AFTER the workout. the best way to get after burn is to do bigger exercises rather than constant reps. for example. when working out instead of doing 30 sit ups which isn't to challenging try 30 squats with like a 30kg bar . this will work arms,ABS,shoulder,back,quads and caff's rather than sit ups which are only doing abs. this will cause allot more after burn as more muscle groups are being work. id look into more detail on it but this is how i lost my belly fat quick and bulked up. this only really applies for abs constant reps will improve any other muscle groups
