Florida pocket knife laws?

so I'm 13 and i recently got a pocket knife. it is completely legal (in florida, where I live) the blade is about 2.5 inches, it is just a regular folding pocket knife. am i allowed legally to carry it around where it isn't visible in public? and if ever in a very very VERY bad situation, like someone armed trying to hurt me would I be able to use it for self defense? it's not a switchblade or butterfly knife or anything, it's just a regular folding pocket knife. The brand is Browning if it helps. thanks!
