Knife laws regarding autos in Virginia?

From my research i have found they are illegal, but i do not plan to take the switchblade out of my house, I am just a collector, and it was unclear to me if keeping it in you're house was illegal also? Also i plan to buy it from a website and was wondering if i would have trouble in shipping it to me. Anyone experienced in this have any insight on this topic?
