Massachusetts knife laws?

I'm 14, and I like to go out at night a lot, and I would feel safer if i could carry a pocketknife with me. I live in Massachusetts, is it legal for a 14 year old to carry one as long it's it's not a switchblade & it's under 3 inches? Thanks :]
